Common questions
Why did I get this email, and who sent it?
An organisation that uses Participant Kit sent it to you. It was most likely an invitation to take part in a research study, or a request to complete a consent form for one. The email should name the organisation. We deliver the email for them, but they chose to contact you.
Is Participant Kit legit?
Yes. Participant Kit is run by Consent Kit Ltd, a UK company based in Manchester, and is used by organisations around the world to run research. All our data is hosted in the EU, and we're one of the best UX and user research platforms for GDPR compliance. We hold Cyber Essentials certification, and you can read how we keep data safe on our security page. If you are unsure about a particular email, contact the organisation that sent it using contact details you already have, rather than links in the email.
How do I stop receiving these, or have my data removed?
Reply to the email, or contact the researcher who invited you, and ask them to stop contacting you or to delete your data.
Who is responsible for my data?
The organisation that invited you to the research decides how your data is used and is responsible for it. Participant Kit provides the platform they use and handles data on their behalf.
For IT and security teams
Which domains and services do you send email from?
We send all research and participant email from mail.participantkit.com, using Mailgun. This is our only sending domain and our only sending service.
Is your email authenticated?
Yes. SPF, DKIM and DMARC are all in place for mail.participantkit.com. We only send email on behalf of our customers, to people they have invited to take part in research.
What should we allowlist?
It would be really helpful if you could add these to your allow list: mail.participantkit.com, which we send email from, and portal.participantkit.com, where the links in our emails go.
